the summary view gives you a high level overview of your cloud spend and savings activity, helping you understand recent trends, provider level costs, and opportunities for optimization, all at a glance what you’ll see spend overview at the top of the page, you’ll see two key metrics total cost this is your total cloud spend for the selected time frame below the amount, you’ll see a percentage comparison to the previous matching period (e g , last 7 days vs the prior 7 days) savings realized this shows how much you’ve saved year to date by acting on the savings recommendations surfaced in the app in the upper right corner, you can change the time frame using the date picker common presets include today yesterday last 7 days (default) last 30 days this month last month cost breakdown by provider this section shows how your spend is distributed across your connected cloud providers (e g , aws, azure, gcp) and any data center resources you’ve metered using amberflo each provider shows a comparison of costs between the current and previous periods for example, if you’re viewing data for the last 7 days, the bars will compare this period with the 7 days before it this makes it easy to spot upward or downward trends across different parts of your infrastructure top recommendations at the bottom of the page, you’ll find a summary of the top 5 savings recommendations, based on potential financial impact each recommendation includes estimated savings the dollar impact if the recommendation is implemented impact % the percentage savings compared to current spend overview a brief description of the opportunity (e g , purchase of a compute savings plan, rightsizing an rds instance) type the category of the recommendation last refreshed at the timestamp of when the recommendation was last updated to explore more opportunities, click “view all recommendations” at the bottom of the list cost guard alerts below the recommendations section, you will find the cost guard alerts table this section highlights any alerts that were triggered during the selected time period at the top of the page these alerts come from amberflo’s anomaly detection system and are designed to help you catch unexpected changes in your cloud spend each alert includes the following information alert title the name of the alert as configured (for example, “compute cost spike – ml team”) range compared the time ranges used for comparison (such as month to date or year to date) last period ($) the total cost during the previous comparison period current period ($) the cost during the selected time period delta the percentage change between the two periods last detected the most recent date the alert condition was triggered this section helps teams identify cost anomalies quickly so they can take action before the issue escalates you can create and manage alert conditions using the cost guard feature within the platform why it matters the summary page helps teams quickly answer key questions are our cloud costs trending up or down? which providers are driving the most spend? how much have we saved so far? where are the biggest savings opportunities right now? it’s designed to be your starting point for cloud cost visibility and optimization
